Victor Schleich, Esq.

Victor Schleich, Esq. joined the Firm in November of 2021. He is based in the Firm’s Harrisburg Office and focuses his practice in the areas of criminal defense, family law, firearms, and mental health law, and civil litigation.

Attorney Schleich has several years of experience in the area of criminal defense representing clients charged with felonies, misdemeanors, and summary offenses. He has represented individuals facing charges ranging from traffic violations to assault, drug offenses, sex offenses, white-collar offenses including embezzlement and fraud, among others. Although Attorney Schleich represents individuals charged with all types of crimes, he has particular experience in Driving Under the Influence (DUI) cases. Attorney Schleich has been certified by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in the area of DUI field testing and investigation, which is the same training police officers receive. In this training, Attorney Schleich studied both the science and law behind DUI charges ranging from alcohol-based impairment to controlled substance impairment. It is rare for defense attorneys to have this level of training in this practice area. Attorney Schleich is as compassionate with his clients as he is aggressive and tenacious in representing them. He is always keenly aware of their interests and does everything within his power to defend and promote their interests.

Attorney Schleich also practices in the Firm’s firearms practice. Before joining Scaringi Law, Attorney Schleich worked as an Associate Attorney for the Firearms Policy Coalition in

West Chester, PA where he worked on First Amendment and Second Amendment cases. At Scaringi Law, Attorney Schleich represents individuals charged with violating state firearms laws, assists those who are prohibited from possessing firearms based upon past criminal convictions or other conduct obtain a restoration of their firearms rights in both state and federal court, represents individuals denied concealed carry permits or who have had concealed carry permits revoked, and handles challenges through the Pennsylvania Instant Background Check System (PICS). Attorney Schleich also provides legal opinions to individuals on whether they are permitted to possess firearms under state or federal law.

In his mental health practice, Attorney Schleich represents individuals who are or who have been subjected to involuntary commitments under the Pennsylvania Mental Health Procedures Act (MHPA). He assists individuals in having their prior commitment under Section 302 of the MHPA expunged which then restores their reputation and their right to keep and bear arms. He also assists individuals who are currently subject to an involuntary commitment in restoring their freedom by representing them at Section 303, 304, and 305 hearings and represents individuals in appealing commitment decisions made by Mental Health Review Officers.

In his family law practice, Attorney Schleich represents individuals in divorce, support, custody, and protection from abuse cases. Attorney Schleich brings his success as a courtroom litigator to his family law practice. These cases often end up in court and clients are well-advised to have counsel who has experience in the courtroom and is dedicated to zealously representing his clients’ interests. Attorney Schleich can navigate these often emotionally-charged cases to get the best results for his clients either through negotiation and settlement or through a court order after a contested hearing.

Attorney Schleich also maintains a general civil litigation practice representing individuals and businesses in all types of civil disputes from the Magisterial District Court to the Pennsylvania Courts of Common Pleas.
