Legalization of Marijuana May Help Expedite Pardon of Possession Charges
In recent news, Governor Wolf has called for the legislature to address the issue of potential legalization of recreational marijuana use in Pennsylvania. Accordingly, the Pennsylvania Lieutenant Governor, John Fetterman, has announced that he intends to lead the Board of Pardons to expedite pardon applications that are made relative to convictions for possession of marijuana.
It stands to reason that, if marijuana becomes legal recreationally in Pennsylvania, as seems bound to happen in the relatively near future, those convicted in the past should be afforded legal relief and not be permanently burdened by their commission of an act that has since become legal.
A pardon results in a complete eradication and erasure of your criminal record. Scaringi Law has obtained pardons on behalf of many of clients and has perhaps one of the most active pardons practices in Pennsylvania.
