Marc Scaringi debates Civil Forfeiture
By Marc Scaringi of Scaringi Law posted in Criminal Law on Tuesday, August 11, 2015.
Marc Scaringi on Monday debated Dauphin County District Attorney Ed Marsico about the use of civil forfeiture by police. During the debate, Marc advocated for passage of US Senator Rand Paul's FAIR Act and PA State Senator Mike Folmer's SB 869. At issue is whether law enforcement in Pennsylvania and across the country is abusing the process of civil forfeiture by seizing homes, vehicles, bank accounts and other assets - many times without ever charging owners with a crime.
The debate was sponsored by the Tea Party of Central PA and held at the New Love in Christ Church in Lower Paxton Township.
