Founding AttorneyMarc A. Scaringi, Esquire Mr. Scaringi has nearly 20 years of experience representing individuals, families, non-profit and for-profit entities and political candidates and committees throughout Pennsylvania. As the Scaringi Law Firm Manager, Mr. Scaringi oversees, supervises and coordinates the representation of all Scaring Law clients in every practice area handled by the Firm. Over the years, Mr. Scaringi has practiced in all the major areas, from Appeals, to Business Law, to Bankruptcy, to Family Law, Criminal Defense, Pardons, Firearms Law, Employment, Civil and Commercial Litigation, to Constitutional Law, to Election and Campaign Finance Law, among many others. Mr. Scaringi now spends most of his time supervising the attorneys and managing the Firm.
Some of the most significant cases Mr. Scaringi has handled or has supervised the handling of include legal challenges brought in the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, the United States Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania and the United States Supreme Court to the Pennsylvania Governor and Secretary of Health’s Business Closure, Stay At Home and other executive orders issued during the COVID-19 pandemic. Mr. Scaringi and Scaringi Law represented individuals, businesses and political candidates attempting to protect their rights under the 1st, 5th and 14th Amendments to the United States Constitution. Further, Mr. Scaringi and Scaringi Law represented Donald J. Trump for President, Inc. in legal challenges brought in the United States Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals to attempt to ensure free, fair and equal elections. Mr. Scaringi also successfully challenged, by threatening legal action, Pennsylvania Lieutenant Governor John Fetterman’s blocking of certain Pennsylvanians from commenting on his “private” Twitter account on the grounds it violated their right to free speech under the 1st Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Mr. Scaringi also supervised the successful challenge, up to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, of the retroactive application of the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act (SORNA).
In 1993, Mr. Scaringi graduated from Georgetown University in Washington, DC with a Bachelor of the Arts degree in History and from the Widener University School of Law in 2001 with a Juris Doctorate. Mr. Scaringi obtained his license to practice law in 2001.
From 1994 to 1996, Mr. Scaringi worked on then Congressman Rick Santorum's campaign for the United States Senate. From 1995 to 1996, Mr. Scaringi worked as a legislative correspondent for U.S. Senator Rick Santorum in Washington, DC. In 1996, Mr. Scaringi worked as an aide to then state Senator Mike Fisher on his campaign for Attorney General of Pennsylvania.
From 1997 to 2001, Mr. Scaringi held the position of Executive Assistant to the Attorney General of Pennsylvania. In this position, Mr. Scaringi served the Attorney General directly as speechwriter, director of public policy and convened and led several statewide task forces including a Task Force on School Safety, Preventing Crime in the Black Community and the Family Violence Task Force. Mr. Scaringi also spearheaded the Attorney General’s effort, called Operation Hard Time, to enhance the penalties for illegal possession of a firearm and the Attorney General’s effort to regulate and control the so-called “date rape drug” known as GHB. During this time period, Mr. Scaringi worked at night on his law degree. In 2001, Mr. Scaringi held the position of Director of Policy on Mike Fisher's campaign for Governor of Pennsylvania.
In 2001, Mr. Scaringi began his law career by entering into law practice with his wife, Melanie Walz Scaringi, and her parents in the firm, Walz & Walz and then Walz, Walz, Scaringi Law, based in Newport, Pennsylvania. In 2005, Mr. and Mrs. Scaringi started their own firm, Scaringi & Scaringi, PC based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Over the years, as Firm Manager, Mr. Scaringi expanded Scaringi Law to its now six offices located throughout Central Pennsylvania with about a dozen attorneys and two dozen employees.
From 2010 to 2012, Mr. Scaringi campaigned for the Republican nomination to the United States Senate in Pennsylvania winning accolades from media and political commentators across Pennsylvania concerning his strong debating skills, knowledge of the issues and unsurpassed work ethic. In 2016, Mr. Scaringi was endorsed by then candidate, Donald J. Trump, as a delegate to the 2016 Republican National Convention. Mr. Scaringi ran in the 2016 primary election, won that election and represented the 4th Congressional District at the RNC in Cleveland. In 2020, Mr. Scaringi was again elected delegate to the 2020 Republican National Convention representing the 10th Congressional District in Pennsylvania.
Mr. Scaringi is a speaker on topics including United States and Pennsylvania Constitutional law, the 2nd Amendment and firearms laws, politics and public policy. Mr. Scaringi has presented at seminars given by State Senator Mike Regan on the 2nd Amendment and has lectured other firearms attorneys on the 2nd Amendment in Continuing Legal Educations seminars. Mr. Scaringi has spoken at several Rallies To ReOpen Pennsylvania in 2020, the 2020 Pennsylvania Leadership Conference, The Rally to Protect Your Right to Keep and Bear Arms in 2020. In 2014, Mr. Scaringi testified before the Pennsylvania State Senate Intergovernmental Relations Committee in support of SB 999 the “Liberty Preservation Act” to prohibit Pennsylvania state officials from assisting federal government officials in implementing certain sections on “indefinite detention” in the National Defense Authorization Act of 2012. Mr. Scaringi also testified before the Pennsylvania House Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee on the Governor's emergency powers under Title 35 (Health & Safety) in 2020.
Mr. Scaringi is a columnist who wrote a bi-weekly column for PennLive/The Patriot News and has been published in the Western Journal and American Thinker among other national publications. He’s also a political and legal commentator who has appeared on Fox & Friends with Hosts Brian Kilmeade, Steve Doocy and Ainsley Earhardt, Fox News @ Night with Host Shannon Bream, MSNBC, PCN and has been quoted in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and USA Today. Mr. Scaringi has been host of The Marc Scaringi Show first on WHYL 960 AM in Carlisle and now on WHP 580 AM in Harrisburg and I Heart Radio since 2015. His talk show has been featured on Voice of America and international news media such as Le Figaro, La Repubblica, The Welt and Good Morning Costa Rica.
Mr. Scaringi has been a member of many Chambers of Commerce and has been a board member of several community and civic associations. He is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Newport Public Library, the Board of Directors of Newport Revitalization and Preservation Society and a former President and member of the Board of Directors of the Newport Lions Club.
Mr. Scaringi resides in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania with his wife, Melanie, and their daughters, Gabriella, Julia, Portia and son Marc Anthony Scaringi, Jr.
